Pearl Izumi Microsensor 3D Bib Shorts
Shorts vs. Bibs
This debate rolls on from recreational riders to the hardened racer. Sure shorts are a no brainer in terms of pull on and go. If the short is worth its salt, it won’t roll down at the waist, has a medium thickness chamois with some anatomical difference between men’s and women’s models. Flat lock stitching is essential to create a seamless panel connection that won’t rub a rider the wrong way or leave a seam trench on the skin.
OK, we just covered the pad, construction and no-roll features. Take that stuff and put suspenders on it. The bib won’t allow any unwanted roll down. The bib also creates or enhances the muscle compression. Keeping muscles taught is a newer idea in function and fit for cycling apparel. As far as compression fit, the Microsensor 3D Bib is excellent. Some claim it is difficult to obey the call of nature with a bib short. I am here to tell you that with a little coaxing of the front material, in general, no problems.
So if you have never tried the bib side of cycling, have no fear Steep Planet is here. We offer half a dozen bib shorts from Pearl Izumi and Giordana.
