Pearl Izumi - Vagabond Jacket
What Pearl Izumi says:
“The perennial favorite Vagabond Jacket has the versatility to be used as a
jacket or converted to a vest with it's zip-off sleeves. Thanks to its Zephrr® fabric, the Vagabond has outstanding wind and water resistance for almost any condition.”
Review: This review will be easy to write, not because of the features and versatility of the Vagabond but the necessity of having this piece in your arsenal of “action jackets”.
The reality of being outside with inclement weather approaching or receding is all too real when at altitude or the season is changing. Here it comes - zip on. There it goes - zip off. Why aren’t all the other’s doing it?
Complete coverage when you need it. Pearl Izumi designed a waterproof wrist seal for added protection against the evil wind and rain. Other features that make the list are the microfleece lined collar. Smooth fleece against your neck act as a passive seal and lets the invigorating cool air sneak in and take the edge off of overheating. At the same time the collar keeps warm air from escaping. The rear pocket is excellent for those items you need quick, and morphs in to a stuff sack for itself. There are generous Generous pockets throughout the Vagabond; two side pockets and a chest pocket for 2-way radio, cell phone , Spirulina Speed Ball, or spirulina energy balls.
There are design features you take for granted like a slight drop tail, the cut of the jacket, reflective logos and cool factor. The Zephyrr fabric is wind resistant, highly water repellent and breathable. Need I mention the sweet zipability options? You can’t feel the zippers whether the arms are on or off. Over all rating is 4.5 out of 5 snowflakes.
