Solstice Guide Flex Jacket

Product Review

Solstice Guide Flex Jacket

This is our first review of products we sell, use and reccomend, so go easy on us this time.

High tech has once again taught us to think differently with new fabrics, innovations function and design. As the need for lighter, more compressable layers continues to drive design, fabrics have to adapt. This culminates in the Solstice Guide flex Jacket.

At elevation there is always constant change. Weather can roll in without notice, temps can drop. If you've been there you know that you need insulation and a shell that is breathable (you're not standing still) and agile. Basically a second skin.

First of all, let us consider who Solstice had in mind for this jacket. Anyone who is looking for that single piece in their outdoor wardrobe that you can grab for a quick bike ride to the store at night when it's chilly and a 2:00am alpine start on Rainier. Why? A combination of 100 weight fleece insulation keeping it light and soft, while keeping the toast hot. The "soft shell" material is made of Duraflex fabric and is highly elastic, breathable and durable. The Super DWR coating is applied to the outer fabric, creating a highly water repellant surface even as it stretches and moves. If it's really pounding weather, you might slip on your <ul>Solstice TWT Shell.

Design features a replica of the upper body including a drop tail rear which won't creep up when riding a bike or reaching for the next hold. Raglan sleeves are my favorite construction for movement and design, and the sleeves are cut longer with less bulk to fit well with any glove configuration or inside a shell. The elbow area is articulated for "anatomical comfort". Solstice also quiets the jacket down with 3mm cord pulls on the zips. And that's just at first glance. That, and it is a great looking looking jacket. Rating: 4.5 out of 5 snowflakes.

In summation, We love the weight, at, or around 2 lbs.6 oz. and the versatility for cold weather activities make it a favorite. The price is $149.00 and we will ship ground for free.
